OK, here's my problem. The starter went out on my limited late model and it has a lifetime warranty. i took it in and got it replaced without comparing the starters very well. I get the starter on and it doesn't even come close to touching the flywheel. The previous starter had a straight bolt pattern and this one has staggered bolt pattern. It has the same part number as the last. My question is do starters with the same part numbers have different heads on them???I know when I take it back in they will just tell me that the part number matches and thats what I bought but it's not right. Any thoughts??

My guess would be it was boxed wrong. if your old number had the straight bolt pattern every starter with that number will have the same bolt pattern on it. i use to work for Orielly's and this happens quit a bit. Hope this helps yah.

Thats the thing, the first one must have been boxed wrong or something. this is from O'Reilly's and the sticker on the starter I got now has the same part # as the reciept. How should I go about asking them about this?? I know they are gonna think i'm just trying to snicker them into giving me a different starter except they already let me exchange the old one so they knew it was thone of their starters.

Not sure what tooth flywheel it is. Just a stock manual flywheel. The number for the starter i got today is a 03-0367. Thats what this reciept says but apparently the one I got before which was the right one was a different number and rang up as this number.

No problem at all. They understood and got it taken care of. Thanks JDF for the part number.
