That's exactly what i've seen over the years,alot of it has to do with using reverse.Being that you just slam it into reverse to back up,it ends up tearing itself up.Also it seems like using the valve varies so much on when it engages the bands,with a cold trans it seemed to grab and not slip as much,tearing it up as opposed to being hot,probably due to more line pressure with the cold fluid.

I had some problems with my 'glide. The way I fixed it was to replace it with a 3 speed.

I know a lot of you guys use and swear by powerglides, but I like the 3 speed a ton better.
