Author Topic:   aftermarket clutch setup???

Hey all. I'm looking for some opinions. I started helping a buddy of mine on his street stock. This other guy that helps him had to cut off part of the clutch fork so the headers would clear for some reason. Anyways, there is about two inches of fork left sticking out of the bellhousing. If I got an aftermarket pedal with master cylinder and ran a pull type slave cylinder do you all think it will work?? I was just wondering because of it being shorter it will be harder to pull back. Let me know your opinions. Thanks.

If your going to all that trouble spend the money and get a full hyd throw-out. as long as your running a mini clutch there very easy to set-up and i've had no problems, make sure your clearances are right. Everybody has there own preference

if your rules state a Stock clutch get a Howe Hyd. Stock clutch throw out bearing.

I've been running a external pull type for 3 years now with no trouble and the arm is shortened I think thats what the mfg.recomended doing.
