the best way i have found to keep from ruining tubes is to put the baby powder in so the tube can flex and move , but when you are airing the tire up is where it gets tricky. just put enough air in to it so that it starts to set the beads and then take and spray paint the tire where the bead is on the in side of the wheel and air it up to about 30 pounds or so, set it in the sun for a day and then you can set it at the desired presure. i do it all the time with no problems.

use bolt-ins. We've never had a problem running them off the rim but it depends on how carried away the psi.
