I've got a new nodular steel flywheel to run now, 153 tooth. I've seen this before but can't remember the answer. What do I need to get a starter off of to work with this type flywheel. I've been using a 168 tooth up until now.

Thanks for all the help guys, I went to Oreillys and got one for a 79 Monte. I had to shim it out alittle but it looks like it will work good. Now I just gotta figure out how to get the pilot bearing out to put the new one in.

to remove the pilot bearing pack the end of the crank with grease and use a "whittled down" piece of a broomstick to knock the bearing out with hydraulic pressure.

Go to autozone and use the puller they have then either keep it or take it back I think it is only about 20 dollars lots easier and neater and quicker
