ok i know that most of you guys are chevy boys but i know there are a few ford guys in here..

question: what kind of automatics are you using and is there a trick converter since the rules say "stock type converter that is a minimum of 11 inches with drain plug"..

has anyone had the converter place build one special for them??

if you have to use a ford automatic, use a c-4. a c-6 is a horsepower thief, an FMX is an elephant and an AOD is a waiting DNF.

i've found the best ford tranny for racing is the SROD manual. it's like a top loader only it has an aluminum case and internal shift linkage.

If you have to run a ford auto trans, c4 is definitely the way to go.

C-4 for automatic but I'm running a late 70's 3 spd toploader w/aluminum tail housing the bad thing with an auto is no push if your starter fails. I had 2 direct drive starters fail but am using gear reduction off a newer truck with 300 six works good so far.
