I have been running the old wagon wheel type white steels wheels with what looks like 4 inch offsets on my 1984 Monte carlo on 1/2 mile dirt track but recently have bent a few so its time for more wheels. I have to run 15x8 but what offsets do I need or does it really matter? I was told the 4 inche is not what I want again. Also is there a good place to buy?

You say they look like 4 inch offsets. Do you know how to measure them?? If not it's real simple. You just measure from the back bead of the wheel to where it bolts up and thats your offset. Can you only run the waggon type wheels?? If not, you can find 8 inch wide wheels anywhere. Day is a good place to get them from, good prices.

when you measured the offset from the back to the mounting plate what did you get? A 4" offset should put the tires outside the wheel wells not inside. Jr.

I run:
2" backspace RF
3" Backspace LF
4" Backspace RR
3" Backspace LR

This set-up keeps the front end wider than the rear.
And when the track dries out I put a 2" on the LR, which helps tighten up the car.
