I have been trying to get into racing for about the last 12 years. Always had a wife that told me no..... i'm sure ya'll know what i mean

Well, goodbye exwifey...

I purchased a mid 80's Cutlass with Rollcage and race ready minus the expensive stuff...

My class rules have a max of a 10" rim. I will be running at a 1/2 mile clay highbank.

Can someone guide me in the right direction on what sized wheels to put at each corner. Any help would be appreciated.

buy all your wheels the same offset.
Then later you can add spacers for some fine tuning.

I would start with 3" backspace and a 2" and a 4" for adjustments

I got the same thing a mid 80's Cutlass, running a half-mile.

LF 3" offset
RF 2" Offset
LR 3" offset, (dry track add 1" spacer)
RR 4" offset

This way the rear is 2" narrower than the front also.

If you want to use the spacer plan, make sure you install the longer bolts so you can get the spacer's on.

Instead of the spacer you also can use a 2" offset rim on LR.

On our metric car we run 3"all the way around except LR we run 2"to keep the wheel up under the car

everyone is saying offset I think they mean backspace. I think there is a difference when you order be sure you order in backspace. good luck in your racing it is very addictive.

Tim
you are correct the two terms get interchanged all the time.
the correct term is backspace.
offest is from center of the wheel.
backspace is from the rear to the mounting plate.
