There is some stock early cast manifolds that will flow more and better than those choked down stock tubular ones.

the 69-70 351w exhaust manifolds flow about the same as the late model 1 1/2" "squished tube" shorty headers, maybe a little better. the 351w manifolds will probably cost you a lot more though. they are getting hard to find.

outlaw is correct.....the shorty pinched tube headers aint worth a hoot.....tryed them once around 96 i think.

I heard that they make a replica to the early 289 hi/po manifold. Are they as good as the stock ones? Has anyone used or seen them ?

ive used the stock shorty but to make them work weld around the outside of the tubes by on the top and grind the weld off the inside then use a pipe expander and open the colector up
