I got hit this past weekend and the line inside of the fuel cell came off. I could just barely reach inside and slip it back on, but I'm afraid it's just going to come off again. Has anyone ever had this happen before? Is there a way to prevent it from coming off again?

Thanks

My dad was the one working on it, so I haven't tried anything yet. He said that he tried to unloosen the fitting and it just kept turning. I guessing that there is another nut inside the tank that is turning???

Can you take off the bolts around the cap to posibly get more room to get into the tank? Or is that too much trouble for what it's worth?

bm4183.

If you take the bolts out around the fuel cap make sure you dont mess the gasket up and if you do make sure you make a new one.

That gas cap hole has tore my hands up more than once lol!

Good luck.
Steve.

Mine also did that first race. I just took off the line fitting and dropped a steel fuel line, cut to length and flared on one end, into the tank. Been working for 2 years now.

It seems like this isn't all that uncommon. Why does it come off? What originally holds it on?
