ben hoesing in from ames runs a 80's 2 door ltd and runs pretty strong at boone . or you could take your vic frame and shorten it down to 108 and put a t bird body on it we had one a few years ago worked pretty good was built by mike carlburge dirt track products in iowa falls. he also built a ford like that to run stock car in webster city and is a real fast car

we had good luck out of an 82 t bird .we were able to keep it lite but durable. we run all mustang components on the front and a 57 9' rear.we just built the car ourselvs and it turned out good .

You're really limitting yourself if you don't want a GM and don't want a Crown Vic. The only blue oval street stocks I've ever seen run well were Crown Vics.

Maybe you should upgrade to a Grand Marquis.
Seriously, though, It seems like the Crown Vics are the best Fords. Parts have got to be plentiful for things as well.

What do I know though, I drive a metric GM.

a fox chassis ford will run like nobodys business if you get the right parts on it. the rear spring arrangement promotes excellent forward bite(it's like a swing arm). they can't take the beatin' and bangin' of a full frame car, but they can be made to work quite well.

Ben Hoesing Ames Iowa runs a 2 door ltd, gran marquis and does real well with it. He has won features with it and is always a front runner every week in the hobby class at different central Iowa tracks. Look him up am sure he would be willing to help you out.
