Just wondering if anyone that has run a saginaw tranny done a 10 bolt/9 inch swap, and if so, how much shorter did your driveshaft have to be to make it work with the 9". I'm going to begin the swap in a few days and it would save some time if I knew ahead of time what length driveshaft to find from the salvage. Thanks in advance.

Doing the same swap on the new car. Dont know if you have to change the length but do know you have to change the Chevy yoke on the driveline to a Ford. Eddie

I did a 10 bolt to a 9 in swap and I didn't have to change the drive shaft. The only thing I had to do was go to a different type of universal joint. Some universals you have to use a two stage (one set of caps are bigger than the others). I got lucky I didn't have to. My caps are all the same but I don't remember the number.

depends on what yoke is on the 9in. the one in my car took the u-joint like it was made for it. not sure but I think it depends on if you have the long or short yoke on the pinion
