What kind of cars do ya'll run for your cars? I'm jsut getting into it,and the one place I've raced the last couple years it's VERY low key and we can run any stock car whetehr it be a 305 in a monte or a 440 in a newport. But now I'm gonna get more serious and run some "real" tracks. I'm in the process of looking for and at some cars to start with to build up this year. Some of the cars I"m currently looking into are ealy 80's montes, lates 70's regals, mid/late 70's montes. But, just curious what ya'll like/have and your reasons that you might like/dislike certain models of cars. Thanks much. Happy racing. Scott

Look around at the tracks your gonna be racing and see what kind of cars are running there (the majority wont be wrong) I personally like the GM metrics for parts availability ease in working on easy to lighten up and you can run them almost anywhere......towman

I like the metric car myself, they roll over nicely in the corners, and parts are easy to find.Just strip as much weight off of the body and interior you can.mine weighs 2770 with 15 gal. of fuel, with no lead.I run a 1000# spring in the lf,1200#rf,225lr,and a 200#-175# in rr.get you some good shocks(afco, bilstein, etc.)cut you a 1" spring cup for rf,and a 3/4" sping cup for ride heights are about 7 1/2"lf,8 1/4"rf,8 1/4"lr,and 8 3/4" rr.My % are 55%LS,53%REAR,and 52-53% cross weight, and about 260-290# of left rear bite, with 3" of rear stagger.Total weight of car with me and 280# of lead is 3280#.My car seems to handle pretty good on all track conditions, with a little adjustment here and there.I hope this helps!

I'm on my second year running a 74 chevelle. The car is pretty forgiving and still only ways 3300 with driver and fuel.
