I am trying to figure out what the correct overall gear ratio to run in my car. I run at several tracks that are different sizes. I even have to run smaller tires at some. I race on an 1/2, 3/8 mile, and .4ths mile with small tires 15x8 rims. I run at 3/8 mile and .3ths mile with larger tires and 15x10 rims. I want to figure out the gear ratios without damaging the engine.

I am still trying to figure out how going to the bigger tires will effect the rpm's. I can put my info in the cal. but it is based on a smaller tire, now with the bigger tires will that decrease my rpm's or increase them.

ohio is right in my class we have to run a stock gm rear end and run 3 different size tracks so they let us run any 7 in wide tire on the rears so we can adjust our gearing with tires for example back a few years ago i ran a small 1/4 ,3/8 and a 1/2 i would run the same gear at all 3 tracks but ran like a 75 in roll on the 1/4 78 on the 3/8 and a 81 on the 1/2 would turn same rpm at all three places. so good rule of thumb bigger the track bigger the tires if your going to run the same gears at all the tracks

What do you mean by in roll? The measurement around the outside ot the tire
