I'm running 100 LL Aviation fuel, can anyone tell me what octane that is? Or how can I get it tested? I ran Turbo Blue and Sonoco Racing Fuel last year. The car seems to be running alittle warmer this year with this fuel.

Do you think I should go back to using regular racing fuel? I was trying to save 2 bucks a gallon. But I dont want to damage my motor.

Im gonna back up rico 08 on this one I tried Av gas yrs ago and had a heating problem I think it only took one jet size larger to help (i think its due to a drying agent in the fuel)....towman

If your running the av-gas make sure to put some Marvel Mystery oil in it to lube the engine. Eddie

Thats incorrect. Its measured the same way that the gas in your station wagon is- The R+M/2 method. Run the av gas, jet up just a little if even necc., save money, and **** off people that believe all of the hoopla put out by the race fuel sellers. Anybody wanna bet that somebody thinks JET fuel is something really special? Its a mid grade kerosene folks, nothing more.

Hey think what you do when you add oil to any gasoline. Oil has an octane rating of about 12. So adding oil reduces the cotane of the fuel. How much? Well.....

Powerglides- I step down, for now.... I'll see if I can't come up with the source that listed it as the R+M/2 method.

Sleepy- I use 3 1/2 OUNCES of marvel mystery oil in 5 GALLONS of av gas. I don' think its gonna change it too much. I do admire your craftiness but this is a moot point.
