I started off using way too low of a gear. I was at a final drive of 5.74. I turned around 5 grand. I upped the gear to a 5.98 and turned just under six thousand. The next step is a 1.84 trans with the 3.42 rear which multiplies out to 6.29. How can I figure what the amount of rpm increase will be?

Have you tried the gear calculator in the toolbox?

Clear as I was afraid that at 5.74 I was at 5000 went up about .25 and gaind 1000 rpm...went from 5.98 to 6.29 (.31) would gain over 1000 more rpm. Oh the stock stuff in the bottom of the motor......tick, tick, tick!
