ok guys ,I have a real stupid question. What does a stock power steering pump do if it is bad. I spent about 2 1\2 hours setting up my pump and then i tried it and nothing. is it possible to have lines backwards on the gear box.I didn't think it made a difference but maybe it does. I have to run a stock pump.

on the gear box the fitting towards the steering wheel is the return line.

Did you get all the air out?One of the steering box manufacturer reccomends bleeding all the air out by turning the wheel lock to lock before starting or they will void the warranty, also check to see if some junk isn't caught in the pressure valve where the pressure line goes into the pump.

Ok here it goes. I checked the lines and they are where they are supposed to be. I checked the pressure valve and checked out ok. I also pulled the pressure line off of the gear box while running and had just a little trickle of fluid coming out. I am totally stumped. What would be the best pump i can use with a short style water pump and camel humps with no accesory* holes. Any and all help will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

I'd carry your bad pump to a parts hose and trade it in for a rebuilt one. This way your brackets will work. Trying to invent brackets is very time comsuming. For 75 bucks I 'd just get another pump and go racing.

had lots o problems with pumps too getting too hot and burning up.got a tranny cooler off a tempo and hooked it in line with stock pump and no more problems .you can also use one from an s-10 with stock or aftermarket res.
