Is the salvage yard an ok place to get a clutch? Also, for a 3/8 mile medium bank clay and 1/3 mile high bank clay, what would be best starting gear selections?

how much of the clutch do you need? I just got a rebuilt pressure plate and clutch disk at O'reilly for $50. Plus, it has a warranty . I would look there before the junk yard.

i'm with dode here you can get the flywheel at a yard but the clutch go to the parts store and get one for your "chevy truck" so it's covered never have to buy another might as well get a starter and battery for it too while your there thats what i do lol

The parts store is definitely the way to go for a clutch. As far as rearend ratio, a 6.50 is about what you want at Warrensburg. I'm not sure what to run at LA yet.
