I have to run a rochester 2bbl carb on a stock cast 2bbl intake. My ? is where does a guy start when jetting the carb? My average rpm range is 4000-6500. 350 auto with 6.15 final drive. flat tops, 1.94s and about 10-1 comp. ratio. Any help?????

If this is the big 1 3/8" ventura carb and
you have a working power valve I would start in the mid 60's range on that motor. If you
see white at the tailpipe jet higher/black
jet lower. When its right it will be brownish-gray.

i think you should speak to the experts than you wont get the run around we have a resident carby expert here so give him a call at kinetic performance on (607)277-6462 speak to dayton he would only be to happy to steer you in the rite direction

Darcy, you're such a "brown noser". LOL! Thanks, man, for the kind words.

As for the jetting question, I think that situation will most likely call for a jet somewhere between 68 and 76, all of which depends how much the carb has been worked.

You would be better off to start with 71 (holley jets) if your not tapped for holley do so it is so much easier then redrilling gm jets to hollet size. run hot laps look at your plugs and see if they are still plenty white if so go up to 73 with the rochesters you are better off to be fat at the bottom end that way it will lean out and be just about right at the top end do not look at the exhaust right away it takes to long to notice except on headers look at your plugs first if you dont know much about plugs there is always somebody at the track that will help you
