I found a rearend from a 77 granada and wanted to know if it was similar to the 79-81's that have the disk brakes and the leaf spring pads. Thanks.

if it's a 9", you found a rare one. if it has disk brakes, it's even more rare and just like what you'd find in a lincoln versaille. it's pretty narrow though. you will need some 2" offset wheels on a metric car with stock wheel wells.

Does it matter if its a v6? Is there any way I can tell if it is a 9 in or not w/o pulling off the rear cover? Thanks in advance.

most 9" don't have a rear cover.

Yeah I know, I just had my head stuck somewhere at the time (if ya know what I mean). I'm used to running a 10 bolt. Is there anyway of knowing without pulling out the whole 3rd member. Sorry bout that. Thanks.

If it is a 9" rearend you have to use a wrench on the bottom 2 nuts that hold the carrier to the housing, on a 8" rearend you can use a ratchet on all the nuts that h0old it in. Some had the 7.5/8.8 rearend with the rear cover like a GM rearend.
