the o-ring type are supposed to be 6lbs lighter but weaker,4 bolt type are a little heavier and tougher,Z-28 style boxes shouldn't be muck diferent than others as far as heating up fluid & pump,it may require a good pump though.

yes i ran the 605 gear box with no problems except over heating i added a tranny cooler from a tempo and problem solved.it turns fast 2 1/4 turns lock to lock

A 605 is the snap-ring top GM box. And yes it's lighter. Not as durable either. I got mine (with it's lifetime warranty) from Oreilly's. And yeah, it's been exchanged a time or two... LOL...
