What gears should I run on a high banked 1/2 mile track? I run a 400 turbo, that I'll run in 2nd gear, I want rpm's to be around 6000-6500, I have a 8.5 10 bolt.

The track is 1/2 mile around outside from what I've been told(first year racing there), and I'm not sure what the roll out will be, the tallest tire I can run is 255/70/15. I was told to run 255/60/15 on the left side to get the stagger I need.

thats what our track is and most guys run 205/75/15 comes out to be around 83-84 in roll and use a 6.0 gear will turn right around 6500 you might want to try a 410 in second gear with the 10 bolt

when I ran 1/2 mile with 86 roll out I ran an 538 in 10 bolt..It ran right at 6000 rpms..maybe a little more..some guys run 528 on a 9inch..it also depends on how much hp you have..I also had a 3speed in high gear..

yeah, we have to run street tires, I was gonna run a 6.00 gear in drive, but I can't find a gear that low for a 8.5, that's why I was gonna run it in 2nd, also do you guys run the same tire on all corners, or do you run smaller on left side? Some guys told me to run smaller and one guy(won 6 track championships) told me to run same all way around.

i can't run weight jacks either i run about 3-4 inches of stagger on the front and 1-2 on the rear for wet heavy and go to 0 stagger on dryslick metric cars don't need a whole lot of stagger in the rear i tried 3 inches one nite and blew my best change for a win all year cause the rear end came right around on me. i would start with athat 4.10 if it was me that will put you at 6.07
