We had the exact tire rules you described. Without a doubt, use the IMCA tire over a street tire. I have used both and I see no advantage with the street tire, whether the track is tacky, muddy, or dry. We are allowed to groove and sipe the tires and thats hard to do on a street tire. The IMCA tires last a long tire with grooving them. Be aware of possible gear changes as the IMCA tire only measure around 82" or so.

If you can run a beadlock, you can run lower pressures, but we have to run standard rims, so about the lowest we go is 14 lbs. The highest we have gone is about 22 lbs.

This is just what we use. You will need to fine tune for your car and track though.

The mod guys complain about the hardness when compared to a Hoosier tire. I like the hardness, it makes them last longer(cheaper). They are still softer than most if not all street tires. I have checked with a durometer. I run them on a 2900# street stock and with beadlocks on the right side, I am usually around....RR 14#...RF 15#...LR 11#...LF 10#. And I increase them a pound or 2 if the track is real rutty and/or very tacky. Good luck.
