I am looking into changing my spindles from later impala with narrowed rotors to Harris's metric caliper option with narrowed and cut rotor. Anyone make the change and what do you think? Did you loose noticable braking? Yes weight reduction but is it worth it?
Thanks

I've got metrics all the way around with pinto spindles and I still think I've got more brake than I need.

Great thanks for the replies, looks like a good idea for me to make the change. Anyone else?
Thanks

I switched last year and noticed no difference in braking, but I do run good pads,I didnt know how it would react at first,so I asked alot of questions before I went to the trouble of switching and a guy that has raced for years told me it would be better because of the low weight of the modifieds and the bad tire we are forced to run.He explained that if you get too much brake with a hard narrow tire, you will have trouble trying to keep from locking them up,made sense.I have ran three brands of pads, and like Wilwood the best, polymatrix D.I cannot think of a reason not to switch.

Thank everyone, your response has confirmed my decision to change. For dirttrackracer, I have heard good things about the Wildwood D pads. Are they consistant from the start of the race to the end? I tried the B compond and different from start to finish.
Thanks again

The D is exactly the same from start to finish.I do warm the pads on the parade lap so they are not completely cold at the start.

Go to the pinto spindels granada rotor. I had a harris with the impalas with the cut rotors didnt like it at all. My dirt works drove great with the pintos. Now I have a GRT with metric works well. Stay with the pintos on the chevelle stub.
