The reason the body looks "taller" is because the chassis builder has most likely raised the halo bars. For instance a dirtworks car built in 1997 and prior has 12" window clearance. When dirtworks started making the DW8 chassis they raised the halo up 2" which gave it the "taller" look. Also the wide body design is starting to take trend.

I think the Kraft Kar bodies look the best. Really look fast just sitting there. Also look kinda like a late model

A local guy makes ours. I think they look very nice. We raise the deck height about 4" to make for a tall dash skinny guys don't have any trouble getting in and out but a bigger fella may, and safety is more important.

Here's a couple of bodies this guy has made. Not that you guys would come all the way up here to have a body bent, but you may be able to steal some ideas.

Our local speed shops sell 4x10 sheets all colors except polished for around $50. I've made 2 bodies, and decided to have Dirtworks build the body for my new car.......I think i'm gettin lazy or something.

We always fab our own up. We have access to a break, a shear and air riveter. It's pretty simple. You might also talk to Bodees. I don't know what he charges but his stuff usually looks pretty good.

We make our own bodies here, Bonus with making your own, is that you can make how you want it. But you definately need the right shop equipment to make it look good. Just my two cents...

Since Boney runs a Harris chassis, he probably uses their bodies. The parts business and bodies are known as Startrack Bodies. Check them out at or call 888.833.5174.
