the new 2003 rules were just posted for our 360 mod class and wanted some opinions on what tranny i should run rules are as follows
360 cid 9-1 comp 500 cfm carb
1. 2450# for stock steel flywheel single disk 10.5 3 or 4 speed, or oem auto with funtional converter no power glides
2. 2550# for mini clutches and glides with coupler and also add100# for full roller rockers.
i have a good t-350 that i had in my bomber and i also have found a pretty cheap stock glide and have the stuff to use the coupler. and i also hace a stock clutch set up but would need a tranny flywheel and bellhousing. i'm on a very limited budget so the 3 speed is kinda out of the question right at the molment so was kinda wondering if that weight advantage for using the t-350 would be better than running heavier with the glide

I don't know what kind of chassis you are running, but at what weight do you realistically run? I can get out of my car and still weigh nearly 2500. The TH has a lot of rotating weight in the tranny and the converter goes without saying. The stock flywheel eats up a ton of acceleration as well. If I were in your position, I would run the mini clutch and 3 speed (I run a RAM Coupler now w/ a Light 3 speed) and take the weight penalty. But since you are trying to stay in a budget, you should try the glide. The extra 100 lbs. won't hurt you on the chassis of the car as much as the extra 25 lbs.(just throwing out a number) or so in rotating weight in your drive line.
