Jason,
I know a guy that has an older champion chassis, and he likes the design. He is pretty competitive, and says that they work pretty well.
If you'd like to ask him about it, I know this is going to sound crazy, but go to www.moparchat.com Register, and go to the circletrack part of the forum. Post any questions you may have to 340King, and he'll answer. He does run a chrysler for power, and he does pretty well with it. I asked him about Champions when I was looking for a newer car, and he was lots of help. Just a suggestion, and .............See ya at the track!!

PS Also, there is a guy there that goes by "Sanborn" that's a lot of help with set-up questions, etc. He and his son run a UDTRA late model, but he knows mods, too.

Thanks for the input guys!! I don't think I'll sell it just yet without trying it first. Ya'll probably have never heard of him but I bought the car from a fellow named Bill Moyer. His son Billy Jr. drove it a few times and said he liked the way it worked.

That may also be the same car that Bill Moyer Senior had Rick Gustin,Mark Noble and a few others drive in and around Iowa and some big specials. Car was a purple frame in color with a yellow body when i last saw it. Car was new around 96 or 97 and i think Bill had more than one of them at the time.

I believe I remember that it is Bret Moyer that used to drive that car, they might be some relation to Billy Moyer though.Billy is from somewhere in Iowa originally, and I think Bret is from Des Moines.

All this doesn't really matter alot, because I've already bought the car. I like hearing stories on it because it'll be another month or two before I get it going, and I have no idea what it's going to do then. I guess all this is really to help my confidence in the car itself. Thanks for all the input!!!

If that car has not been seriously damaged, you can feel good about having a quality car to start with. Don't worry about the age of a car if it has been well maintained and has not been raced to death. Geometry does not care how old it is. We are still running an older DW7 with success. Good luck with your car.
The race I saw the car run was the Longhorn Round-Up at Royse City,TX. It think it ran 96 and 97. Billy drove it the first year when they almost won the main. It was 30,000.00 to win. I don't remeber who drove it or the out come the next year. This race was an awesome event that drew 200 plus cars annually. It was a huge accomplishment just to make the Main.
