I run a older Harris mod with the impala spindles. I was wondering if anyone has changed from the impala spindles to the newer setup that Harris has the pinto spindles with the metric rotor. The weight savings is supposed to be 16 pounds per side.
That is enough to peek my interest in changing, but because of the good success I have had never bending a impala spindle I am hesitant. I was also told the new pinto configuration steers better? Any thoughts.

Being small and light, the pinto spindle is very strong too.

I do have some pinto spindles on hand but they are getting harder to find. Yes i have used them and so far this year i havent relpaced one yet but i have replaced 2 lower control arms . When i had the impala spindles on with my old car i think i went through 2 sets of sindles in one season. If you want to convert to them let me know i am willing to help you out.

Thanks for the responses, It sounds like the two benifits are weight and steering ease. Setting both points aside, and knowing the cost of the change over do you all think it would be worth the money using does it make the car that much better? I'm thinking if I could find in the local yard a couple sets then I would change. If not it looks like the price to change over could be $400-$500. This would be for everything because I would have to change rear calipers and rotors. Any addition thoughts.
