Author Topic:   Changing setup from B-Mod to A-Mod

Just wondering what changes we might have to make ,(if any),to our setup if we change our carb from the 4412 2-barrel that we are required to run in our B-Mod class to an 1100 4-barrel, to run the car as an A-Mod. Our clutch & pressure plate are both 11" stock. I know the track will be super dry (Beatrice Speedway)& the car has always been fast on dry with the B-Mod setup. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The main change that you will have to make is to get a new fun meter. I ran a 4412 on my WISSOTA mod for 1/2 the season and it was all right; fifth place car out of eight. Then I put the 750 cfm on and whoa Nelly! The car went so fast everybody thought somebody else was driving the car! Makes the car easier to drive through the corner, more power!!! RRRRR! You may need to improve forward bite.

you might want to tighten the car up a bit too i talked to a guy that runs b mods here and ran a in boone at the super nats he said it was alot different but our b mods run 360 9:1 motors so that might not be as big of a change for you as it was for him

Thanks for the feed back guys. We have a 355cu.,12.5-1 comp. motor. It's my sons first year in a mod.He won the track champ. & 7 features this year & I think he needs to see what REAL competition is all about.

The only thing I change between the two is gear ratio. Must go to taller gear to help kill power and make it easier to drive plus to compensate for increased speed!
