You need either guideplates or larger diameter pushrods. If you look at the hole that the pushrod comes through and compare it to the same hole on a stock head, you'll notice the one on the sportsman head's quite a bit larger, and yes..your rockers can fall off. I had a replacement engine built for a tow rig a few years back by a guy who normally builds race engines, and he used a set of stock heads that had had the pushrod holes opened up. Rockers came off the first day I drove it so he replaced the pushrods with larger diameter ones and I never had another problem with it. Well..till it blew up the next year, but that wasn't a pushrod problem..roflmao

Good luck
Matt

Make sure you get the guideplates positioned exactly where they need to be. The holes that are in them are a bit larger than the studs that go through them most of the time, so there's room to get them off center a little bit one way or the other. If you get them off center too far, you'll rub the side of the pushrod too much and it'll gall and break a lot sooner than it otherwise should.
Also, be sure to use a little Loctite again when you reinstall your studs so they don't back out.

Good Luck,
Matt
