Its not a simple task reading allky plugs! Luckly the guy who does my motors pits for me every week, when he takes a plug reading he uses a magnifying glass to inspect them. Ive tryed to read them and he tells me im not even close! I would suggest try your local speed shop and look for a motor tuning book, or try someone you trust at the track who your confident knows what talking about because your playing with fire, And the wrong results could cost you your motor.

WHEELS47 , IT SOUNDS LIKE YOUR GUY IS RUNNING VERY LEAN, WE RUN ALKY AS WELL, AND I LIKE TO HAVE OUR PLUGS LOOKING A TANNISH COLOR . (BLUE , WHITE ) MEANS LEAN ,NOT GOOD WITH ALKY MOTORS , THEY WILL MELT PISTONS VERY QUICK .IT IS BETTER TO RUN A LITTLE ON THE RICH SIDE THAN ON THE LEAN. WHAT TYPE OF CARB ,? AND DO YOU KNOW WHAT SIZE JETS YOU HAVE , I CAN GET MORE PRECISE WITH THIS INFO, AND MAY BE ABLE TO GET YOUR CAR BACK ON TRACK. NEED TO KNOW TIMING AS WELL. GOOD LUCK .BUT BY ALL MEANS DONT KEEP RUNNING YOUR MOTOR LEAN.

Thanks for the info guys. as I said this is a fellow racer who pits beside us and he has talked to his carb people who informed him the carb he had on it was way to big for the horsepower he had and to get a smaller carb. He did and this week the missing and popping is gone. hope this atays like this for him. He was getting pretty frustrated. Thx agian--Wheels
