Has anyone ever built a speedway modified kit car and if so what are the pros and cons of the kit and is it worth the money to buy the kit or build one from scratch? Also, in the pics the speedway modified does not have an offset rollcage will this hurt the car?

the kit does not come with alot of the brackets and small tabs you need. The kit also does not come with motor mounts and i know of several guys that have built them that they had to have several things rebent because things did not fit. The offset in the cage doesnt seem to hurt them by not having it. The cage kit is made of electric welded tubing and is not as strong as a cage made of DOM tubing.

I BUILT A NEW CAR THIS WINTER AND WHAT I STARTED WITH WAS A SPEEDWAY CHASSIS THAT HAD BEEN BUILT BY SOMEONE ELSE. WE CUT THE FRONT CLIP OFF AND REPLACED IT WITH A METRIC STUB AND ALSO HAD TO DO MODIFICATIONS TO THE UNDERSLUNG. OUR CAR WEIGHS 2150 WITH 20 GAL. FUEL AND HAS 56.7 REAR BUT LEFT SIDE WIEGHT IS HEAVY. I WILL BE MOVING MY ENGINE TO THE RIGHT TO HELP WITH THIS PROBLEM. HEADROOM IS GOOD AND LEG ROOM IS ADEQUATE.
