Most fuel oil and gas wholesale outfits can sell it if they want to. Most will get you drums if you ask them too. Racing alky is really a junk product, used to seperate products in pipe lines and stuff like that. As long as the hydromter reading is 96.8 (aint certain of that number) it is okay. You can add your own top lube for pennies a gallon. Last year 3 drum lots cost were 90 cents a gallon.

I used to buy my alky at a chemical company, not evan a fuel distributor. But that stuff didn't have the lube for the motor in it. I saved about 25 to 30 dollars depending on market price. Call turbo blue and ask if they can help you sort out the differences in the fuels. Like I say, the stuff I ran was not intended to be fuel, but it worked ok as fuel and the chem co. dude said it would be fine as a fuel.

The fuel you want is called Methanol. It's used for several applications and is all manufactured by a company called Methanex. The difference in price is attributed to the amount of filtering or how clean the fuel is. There is a place in Michigan that sells the fuel for $.90 a gallon. You can buy it at farm stores such as Tractor Supply company, or any place that sells tractor tires. It's used as weight or ballast in very large tractor tires to help get traction. Turbo Blue as it's called is also a version of this same fuel that's been filtered several times and had blue dye added for color.
Most of the stuff you buy is not designed for racing applications. That is it doesn't have top lube added and hasn't been filtered clean.
If you want to save some money, you can buy the top lube and add it to your own fuel and you can use paint strainer filters to filter the fuel.
Hope this info has helped, and .............see ya at the track!!

UFORACING, for that price, I think I could drive to save some money. The place I referred to is just outside of Jackson, Michigan. It's a place where they sell bulk fuel. I also have heard of a place in Dallas where they sell it for an even $1.00 per gallon.
Where I'm from in Southeast Missouri, it goes anywhere from $1.60 to $2.00 depending on where you buy and what product you are buying. If it's been filtered several times and has the top lube added, it can go over $2.00, not to mention if you try to buy it at the track.
I'll do some research and see if I can get you a phone number of that place in Michigan. At $4.00 plus a gallon, you could easily save over a dollar a gallon and have the stuff shipped.
Good luck to all this racing season, and ..................see ya at the track!!

We pay around 2.30 a gall at the track and a few cents cheaper by the drum. Does anyone have a # that i could call to get the under a $1.00 a gal. I would by a large amount and sell it for $1.50 a gal and support my racing ya right but i would be interesded in a # to get it cheaper if we bought like 50 barrels. Thanks, Craig

At those prices, I should consider going somewhere to get it. We are so remote in Montana that some people jack the price up cause they shipped it for us, so they charge the heck out of it. interesting subject matter!

you might even have to have the flammable placard displayed also. find somebody with a topper to haul it or an enclosed trailer and stay away from truck scales!!! good point autoshop.
