I was wanting to know the best places to put oil restrictors in a small block ford. This is a solid lifter cam motor.

get the moroso kit or the one from ford. it is a allen plug set with a small hole in them that go in the 2-5 main webs in the block and the one angle passage off the rear main that feeds the right side lifter galley.

i never use any restrictors at all in ford engines, have built many winning ones and have never seen the need yet just need your oil pressure to be at about 50 lbs when racing. hope this helps you.

I used them in a 351c one time and kept eating dist gears. We had to drill a hole in the plug up front to spray oil right on the gear,after that we had no problems!

14 i had that same problem with the distributor gears till i changed it to a bronze gear, 351c with restrictors.

I use the standard Moroso style restrictors in my Windsors with roller rockers. Had problems with some in stock rocker rule motors, so i have changed the size slightly and they work ok now. 351C's are something totally different. Stock size oil pumps with high pressure Roush spring and good oil pans lighter weight synthetic oils are a plus.

I Have run a 351w for quite a while, and we do also run the restrictors in the main webs, but what we found out what really helps is to take apart the oil pump and have it timed so that it is more efficent. And we do this with a stock pump. We found that in a Windsor a High volume oil pump is overkill, and a reworked pump is just as good if not better. I have never lost and engine due to oil pump failure or loss of oil pressure.
