The Ford vs Chevy in weight is pretty even maybe a little heavier on the Ford, but what you get with the Ford is ALOT more torque and a Ford will out live any Chevy motor 3 times over!

you need to use a ford to tow your race car
(ford power stroke) and leave the sbc in your
car if you want to win races.you can biuld 2 sbc for the price it cost to biuld 1 ford

I run a 351w with gtp heads. c4 tranny. I get 375hp & 450 torque with a 2bbl carb & intake. As for price, the ford parts have come down alot in the past few years. You can build a ford for real close to the same price as a sbc.

Chillicothe, Mo.
We have about 100 cars each Sat. night and only a handful run Fords....I cant figure this out. We just started racing mid-season of last year, never been in a car before. Went out and took 6th in the Feature of a two day race in my second week.....Raw Ford Power and good car setup from experienced racers....sure wasnt my driving experience

Does anybody else run GT-40P heads on a 351W block? If so, what headers are you running. I ran Schoenfeld IMCA headers where the collecter points straight out from the engine. The spark plugs wires are very close to the tubes.

I ran 90 degree boots on my plug wires, had no problems. I was runnin close to the same style headers with 69 windsor heads.

I run the gtp heads now & I use kustom craft headers. They built them for me b4 I was using the gtp heads.I think they are out of Kansas. If you like I can get their 3 for you.

Sure, just e-mail me with their number. How much did you pay for them?

Where can I get a blowproof bellhousing for a 351W w/3speed manual ?

Brand new is about $300.
That's a little steep but rules require it.

Any ideas where to look?
Thanks

I was wondering what kind of set up on valves you were using on the gtp heads on a mod I use them on my bmod but my motor guru said the dont flow enough for a imca mod motor also did you do alot of port work to them thanx

I had a drag race guy give me a pretty trick valve job. I have 1.94 1.60 valves. Be careful, if you don't do it right, big valves wil hurt performance. I run unsanctioned b-mod, so I can't run SVO heads. If I could, I would run the 351N, they actually have come down a lot in price, so if you're running all-out mod, this would be my suggestion for a cast-iron head. The world's are pretty good as well. No port work allowed in my class either.
