Racers; In your posting of Powerglide Direct Drives. The hose and ball valve set up has total pressure by-pass provided off the main line pressure, the pump pressure by-pass set up. The other discussed is with the push start/push pedal to move in low setup, the reason reverse does not work properly is because it has not been modified correcty. What should of been done in order to operate reverse in the Direct drive mode with the push start was for the reverse piston to be drilled with a 5/32" or a tad larger drill bit to provide a reverse pressure by-pass in order to slip gently appling reverse instead of slamming into reverse thus stalling the engine. If you can have the reverse piston drilled as I have explained, this will cure your problems. Burt Brown www.burtbrownracingtrans.com

FYI; I did an artical in 2000 Decembers issue of STOCK CAR RACING MAGAZINE on this very save topic and recently did another artical for racingweb.com under Burt Brown's Tech Tips. So give racingweb.com a visit, give my artical a look over and if you would like to see more of this type of Tech info, give them a E-Mail. Thanks and Good Luck! Burt
