I am in the process of building my first IMCA type car. I need some suggestions on what type of car to get rotors off of to put disc brakes on my ford 9" rear end with a 41/4" stud pattern. Someone told me that the rotor should be 11 1/2" tall and have a 2" offset but they could NOT tell me what to find them on. Any suggestions would be appreciated

some people use the front rotors off a pontiac 6000, or a jeep cherokee. i think they are around 10 1/2 to 11"

also on some nine inch rear axles you have to turn the axle flange down a bit so the rotors slide on.

Just learned this today. The early Jeep rotors are not a pure cast iron as we would consider them. They contain a material for comfort feel for the driver. (whatever that means) Anyhow, this special blend of rotor material is no longer being used due to the rotors warping from heat. I've run the old rotors on dirt with no problem, maybe asphalt guys cant use them. Or, if any forum readers drive Jeeps and the good feel has left the brake pedal, you now know why.
