Could someone please tell me the difference in a grand national axel and a wide five. We have asked several people and still havent got an answer.

the grand national axle uses standard rims, the wide five uses rims that do not have a center section.

If you're talking about the axleshafts, the drive plates are different, so I'm guessing that's where the difference is. Maybe size and number of splines.

If you're talking about the wide-five vs. GN hubs, GN's use a normal, street style wheel with a 5x5" bolt pattern where a wide5 uses an 11" aluminum or mag hub and a wheel with basically no center section and a 5x11" bolt pattern.

IMCA mods use GN type and Late Models use the wide 5's
