IMO, the absolute best thing I did on my IMCA stockcar was to take the Afco shocks off and replace with Bilsteins. Worth every penny.

There's a swap meet here in DesMoines every winter, where a vendor sells 4 Bilsteins for $350. That's the cheapest I've seen.

The only thing i do different when scaling a car with gas charged shocks is to unhook them when the car is on the scales. I totally agree that the bilstiens are a much better shock than the afco....especially for the cost of the afcos.

I have been looking for a conversion chart for the site for all these different shocks, does anyone know where I might be able to get ahold of one?

Jammin, the Bilstein catalog has a conversion chart. That's all I've seen.

It also shows a cross to Pro and Carerra shock numbers.

Not only are the Bilstiens, the most consistant shocks I have ever ran, but the small body ones are great for the front. There is absolutly no clearance problems with them. They however do break if you take a hard hit, but I honestly believe that is better than a big one bending slightly and not knowing it. You can chase a problem like that for weeks.

We ran AFCO for years...this year we switched to Bilstein and never had a problem. The reason we switched was because we had to replace a ton of AFCO's because they were leaking, or breaking, or some other problem. I like the Bilsteins a lot better.
