I have run into this problem before with the G-60 IMCA... What I did to correct it was reworked the weight distribution. Once I reset the car, it no longer feathered them. They wore a lot more evenly.

You need to take your tire temps and look at them, sounds to me like the tires dont have enough air in them

Check the temps...if the center of the tire is cooler than the outsides, then you just answered your own question.

9 seems a little low for the d40, I typically run 12 at the lowest on the d40. If i run an h40 i will drop down to 9. I had troubles blistering the d40 if i went below 12 on the rr. I have run as low as 7 without any problems on the lr.

we run d40s at one of our tracks and found that (start the main at ) 9 lr 12 rr and the temps are even and seem to wear fairly even with about 80lb heavy on the lr
