just wonderering what the effective difference is between running the long pullbar mounted at the trans and the short one behind the drivers compartment. also i've seen a pullbar that had a pair of large red bushings in it and wondered where to get one. thanks in advance jl

jlfastride,

The torque absorber with the red biscuits is available through Lane Automotive and I believe D&M also make one. I use the one from Lane and it works really well.

I personally prefer to use a long pull bar to smooth out the geometry. I believe that it should be as close to the center of gravity as it can be. I also like to see it angled to the right of the driveshaft.

My cars use the right half of the driveshaft loop for the pull bar mount. We have experienced much more lift in chassis and more weight transfer doing it this way, than with a short bar attached behind the cockpit.

Some people say it makes no difference, but I think it makes ALL the difference. Having my own track, I get to do a lot of testing and I am convinced the longer bar is the way to go.
