Author Topic:   Z-link-----5th coil susp?
posted August 16, 2001 10:02 PM
This weekend will be my first time in a recentlly purchased car with a z-link-5th coil car. I just about had the 3-link setup mastered. Any advice on setups and adjustments? We run on a 3/8 mile that stays tacky all night and on A-40 Hoosiers.
Thanks for any help!

We have ran a Z-Link all year. Started with NO knowledge and still have a race car.
The best I can tell you is the following.

LF 750Lb------RF 850Lb
LR 200Lb------RR 250Lb

75 Lbs left rear 59.9 rear % W/driver 32 gal fuel

Panhard bar (long) 1 in up on left side.

9400 rear shocks 1in stagger.

I hope this gives you a start. I have learned a lot from this forum. Look back in the past few months and read some of the posts.

Appreciate your reply peddler.
We ran the car last night, the track stayed heavy all night and the car wouldn't hook up.
Where do you run your 5th coil shock and spring front or rear which in front?
We came from the 7th row and finished 6th so the car worked great but no forward bite???
Thanks for any help!

5th coil and spring on front of lift bar.
150 lb spring with 0 preload.
Rear springs mounted on swing arms rr straight, left rear at an angle toward center of car.
I hope this helps.
