HI GUYS I NEED HELP WITH SETTING MY PANHARD BAR I AM RUNNING A 3 LINK TYPE SWING ARM WITH A LONG BAR LEFT ON FRAME TO RT AXLE TUBE AND CAN'T CHANGE TO J BAR OR SHORT BAR WITHOUT MAJOR CHANGES. THE CAR HANDLES GREAT IN BUT GETS LOOSE IN THE MIDDLE I HAVE IMPROVED THIS BUT CAN'T GET CONSISTANT DIRECTION . I DON'T KNOW WHERE TO GO W/PH BAR OR EVEN IF I SHOULD GO THERE.THIS IS A FLEXI FLYER AND I AM RUNNING ON 1/2 MILE MID TO HIGH BANK TRACK . I HAVE WORKED ON CARS FOR A LONG TIME BUT THIS IS THE FIRST TIME TO DRIVE. SO SOME OF MY PROBLEMS ARE BEHIND THE WHEEL. BUT WOULD LIKE TO KNOW WHERE TO START.ANY HELP WILL BE APP.

CUZZ45,

I ran a 3 link swing arm last year like you on a 1/2 mile track and we made the major changes to the short J bar and a pull bar. But last year to help things we made a plate for the right side of the panhard bar on the axle and drilled 2 holes in it. The top hole we put a bolt through and mounted it to the rear end. We then lowered the bar to the 2nd hole on the plate and it made a big difference by lowering the hole by about 2". Also, don't be afraid to run reverse split in the springs and run over 250# left rear heavy with over 55% cross. It really helped me. Hope this helps.

If your just loose in the middle, lowering your panhard bar will give you more sidebite and should help your loose condition in the middle.

If your just loose in the middle reduce the stagger if possible. Lowering the panhard bar will tighten the car more on entry than in the middle.

WPP A 3 LINK SWINGARM IS A SWING ARM WITH A PULL BAR OR OTHER 3RD LINK SO MANY PEOPLE CALL Z LINKS (WATTS LINKS ) SWING ARMS. I WANTED TO MAKE SURE EVERYONE KNEW WHAT I WAS TALKING ABOUT.
