As a racer, would you consider running in a limited series using an "outlaw" style wing?
What about opening the engine and tire rules for these events? As a fan, would you pay a little extra to see a winged modified event?

FYI:
Here is a class that does have wings... look at the pics. Initially, the class did not have wings, and now they do.

I don't think we would add a wing for just one race.

Steph, thanks for your input. I did visit your site and noticed that the modified was sporting side panels. I am thinking that a sprint outlaw style wing that could easily bolt thru the roof to the top of the cage would give the racers the downforce on the straightaways with the side panels for corners. Perhaps a limited regional series that would travel from track to track. Ideas?

I just listed that as an example. We race UMP - this is another class in this area.

Anyway, in terms of traveling regional series... I think they would do better in areas where you already have some traveling regional series. Most everyone around here runs their local tracks and only travels for due to weather or $, and usually doesn't due to our real jobs during the week. If one came to our local track, I don't see us putting a wing on for that one night. Just my opinion.

Yes, I understand and also agree. Purse money is really the incentive for any Series to succeed. Especially if the Series can secure a sponsor. It does seem that special events,if properly promoted, bring out the fans. Everyone always wants to see something different! An 8 to 10(?)event Series run within a 100 mile radius would not place an undue burden on a team. Thanks for your input!

KSGerry, i thik that you have a good idea going there, but it cost alot to buy them types of wings, i think that if it was set up to where it ran only weekends, and around the same are the whole time, i think it would draw some intresed, if it payed enough i would want to run it, and if i didn't run, i sure would go see it.
