Do you race long races where scoring is a problem? what if you change have two cars and don't like one or crash one in practice???? I don't see the need for this at the local level.........oh sure, once in a while there is a close call at the finish line and some time people even disagree with the finishing order, the transponder would help in that case. But if the track has a person they want to win, the track will find a way under yellow to move that driver to the front anyway.......

Some of the tracks in New York under the DIRT sanction are going to this system. They haven't required them for the IMCA mod's yet.

I race at the same track as ModRacer93, Bought my transponder this weekend $300.00 and no buy backs! So much for keeping the cost down. I'm trying to figure out how to mount mine on that 23 OR 74 car. By the way it's now mandatory that we have one within the next three weeks.

I ran one on a road race car a few years ago and still have it. It worked fairly well although I've never run one on dirt. Do you have to purchase a specific brand or can you provide your own as long as it matches the proper frequency?

I run at HRP every now and then, they said these will be needed even before they finished building the track... but they also said you could rent one, is this still true I was planning to race there in a few weeks, but did not know they finally did this...Pigpen
