I HAVE BUILT THE FORD FRONT STEER STUB MODS A FEW TIMES. I PREFER THEM OVER THE REAR STEERS BECAUSE THEY ARE SIMILAR TO A GM IMPALA TYPE STUB. REAL EASY TO FIND PARTS FOR ALSO. THE YEARS ARE LIKE 85 TILL ABOUT 95 MAYBE LATER. THEY HOLD UP REAL WELL, DONT BEND EASY. I USE GM 12 INCH IMPALA SPINDLES AND THE RAISED UPPER AND LOWER AFCO BALL JOINTS IN THE FRONT. WITH TRIMMING THE STUB THE WEIGHT IS NOT THAT BAD, ABOUT 20 LBS OR HEAVIER THAN SIMILAR GM TYPE FRAME.

it is the later model frame that looks similar to the older rear steer but it has a a frame lower and the steering is in front.
