as far as the spring location is concerned having the springs staggered (lr in front, rr behind) will dynamically add wedge under accel and de-wedge the car in decel. Having both in front will not have this effect.
by straight bar i assume you mean a short panhard bar mounted to the pinion and the left side of the chassis. to answer your question yes it should work, but the majority of the harris cars i see run the long bar behind the rear end and a few run a j-bar mounted on the pinion.

Thanks, I'll keep the long bar behind the rearend for now. But which way RR spring in front or behind will produce greater forward bite if any at all?
