I dont mean to break up the tranny thing (learning alot about glides).Im trying to find out who has the best allky carbs for the money. I ran pro-system for the last 2 years and had no probs but not sure they are still doing them for us dirt guys. I have called braswell and got a price from them but have not been able to find a # for C&S. I have heard alittle bit about Willys? I have a few carbs that i need reworked for the best $$. Some of the prices that i have got so far just to rework was the same price as a new demon. Im out on the west coast were we dont have to many allky carb guys. Thanks.

I stand by a Willy's! They start with a standard 4barrel Holley that is then cnc milled so the top ventricals are 1.45" which really makes it breath. The base plate is a
750cfm but what makes this carb so great is the ease of adjusting the thing. He has his own set of metering blocks which allow you to richen or lean out the carb by a twist of your hand. They will run you about $1050.00 but they are well worth it. His shop is just right down the street from mine and you wouldn't think by looking at the place that he has his carbs on over half the NASCAR Busch series cars and on 5 Winston Cup Cars but those haulers that role into town ever so ofen will quickly remind you of that. i use the holley 4150hp 750 alky carb and seem to do good with it. works good out of the box untill you get it dialed in. i dont have the number for c@s but i checked with them one time and rebuilding one was not that bad. something like rebushing the throttle plates and rebuilding the carb was around $150.

I've run a Gaerte carb that I got second hand for 4 years. I tear it down and clean it twice a year, and I've yet to replace a part on it in that time. Gaerte's # is in the back of any race magazine (same as Gaerte Engines), and I understand they're quite reasonable bought new. It's a pretty basic Holley, nothing new to learn.. I'd buy another one if I had to.
If I had the budget, however, I'd surely go with the Willy's. I've known quite a few guys who've run them and they all just love them.... I just like the really b*tchin' colors they come in.

Pro-systems is still doing Carbs for us dirt guys. He has some new mods for the 820 hp's and some new style carbs. I talked to Patrick the other day and he's still sharp as ever. I'm sending my carb in for an update.

the top runners around here are all running c&s billet aerosol carbs..myself included!! seems to be very responsive!! I've tried several different brands(4)and have found that these work the best. with these rocks for tires we have to use...this carb is responsive to avoid wheel spin, and if you do, it feathers better than others I've tried!!

There is a place in Memphis Tennessee called Wilson Competition that will rebuild yours and does one **** of a jod.I know that is a long ways from you but it would be worth the time to let him fix your carb's up.Not sure of the phone # but im sure the tele operator can hook you up.

We run a braswell i bought it used,when i call i give them the #s and they send me what ever i has ran flawless for three seasons now.
