just wanted to know what everyones ideal shortblock for under 2,000 dollars would be. I have to build another short block.
if you can do a short block for short tracks and one for long tracks, i will be using bowtie heads and a victor junior probably.
thanks in advance for your advice

If it were me I would build a 406. They produce huge power and high amounts of torque for not a lot of money. I run mine on all sorts of tracks, from small 3/8 mile to the big 1/2 mile at the Belleville Highbanks. But that is just my opinion.

Well,
I don't know about under $2000 but a very good motor that I've found has been a 410.
Ours has Venoli pistons, Corilla rod, Lunati crank and cam. Its a 400 two bolt block fitted with splayed caps (very strong). This motor doesn't lack in any area!
