I posted a subject on "Straight or Adjustable" prev. I always thought the 180's would be a good header, however I didn't know about clearence. How do they fit under the hood? There just isn't a lot of room! I run a 1 piece fiberglass hood, would they fit? Also where do they come together and exit? If they will work I would like to use them, but I don't want to throw that money away if they turn out not to work. Do you need to modify your throttle linkage? How about tall valve covers? Also what about the distributer? If someone could answer these questions I would be very greatful.

I ha ve always used 180 headers. They are made by Schoenfeld. I did have to do some modification. As far as your hood goes, that should not be a problem, but I did have to do away with the motor plate and fabricate stock car type pedalistal mounts. Also, I had to move one of the bar in the engine bay. The biggest issue you will have is if you have enough room between the upper bars in your engine bay. You may also have to modify your foot box. I didn't, but I know some guys that have a Harris car and they had to rework their foot box. As far as your throttle linkage, it shouldn't be a problem. If you have the room, I would recommend using them. There is a definite horsepower gain, and here is California where we have to run mufflers and have DBA limits, it protects the exhaust.
